    Extended Scheme for Non-OUHK Students

    Extended Scheme for Non-OUHK Students

The Extended Scheme is designed for non-OUHK students. Applicants who do not wish to enroll on an OUHK course prior to applying for advanced standing may apply via the Extended Scheme.

The three types of advanced standing, namely, General Credit Transfer (GCT), Specific Credit Transfer (SCT) and Block Credit Transfer (BCT) are available under the Extended Scheme. Applications submitted via the Extended Scheme are processed in the same manner and subject to the same policies as applications submitted by other student claimants, save in the following two aspects:

    (1)   Validity period of advanced standing awards
Transfer credits awarded under the Extended Scheme are subject to a two-year validity period from the date of the release of application results. If the applicant registers for a credit-bearing course and becomes an OUHK student within the two-year validity period, the awarded transfer credits will be confirmed as permanent awards. Otherwise, the awarded transfer credits will be invalidated after the two-year validity period.

    (2)   Claim fees and partial refund
Applications submitted under the Extended Scheme are subject to a higher application fee which is 150% of the normal fees charged for a normal student claimant, but are entitled to a refund of one-third of the paid amount if the applicant registers for a credit-bearing course and becomes an OUHK student within the two-year validity period. After the refund, the application fee paid by the applicant is the same as that paid by a normal student claimant. The remaining portion of the paid application fee, however, is non-refundable irrespective of the application result.
