Established by the government, OUHK offer most programmes choices to the largest number of students among self-financed universities in Hong Kong. We communicate our uniqueness and the benefits of tertiary education to public via various branding and marketing initiatives.
We have been delivering educational TV programmes through public television channels since 1989. Currently the TV programme "Open for Learning" is broadcast every Sunday on TVB Pearl from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The broadcast schedule and some e-episodes are available for viewing online at www.ouhk.edu.hk/openlearning.
Students are admitted to OUHK through a number of study modes such as Full time face-to-face Undergraduate Programmes via JUPAS or direct application, Distance Learning Undergraduate Programmes or postgraduate programmes in both face-to-face and distance learning modes. We conduct market research to analyze the market trend of higher education and needs of students in different segments for strategic planning. We communicate with public and students at various touch points including advertisement, website, outreaching promotional events, Infodays at campus, Facebook, YouTube as well as news and blogs at OU Knowledge Network kn.ouhk.edu.hk.
We establish good relationship with secondary schools and arrange university visits for teaching staff and students. We arrange video or advertisement for professional associations to endorse our programmes and attain mutual publicity. For our major partners and corporations, we have Employer Support Study Scheme to provide training to their staff.
