The Alumni Affairs Office acts as a bridge between OUHK alumni and their alma mater. Through providing an array of activities, benefits, services and communications, the Alumni Affairs Office of the Public Affairs Unit is committed to developing a connected alumni community.
To build a close and lifelong relationship with alumni;
To strengthen ties and enhance interaction among alumni;
To cultivate alumni's sense of belonging to their alma mater;
To provide a wide variety of services and benefits to alumni;
To raise alumni's awareness of and rally support for the University's development.
Organizing alumni activities
Since our establishment, we have been organizing a wide range of activities to engage alumni and enhance their relations with the University, such as talks, workshops, reunion gatherings, activities held under the Alumni Café series and graduation photo taking events.
Maintaining communication platforms
We make use of various communication channels to connect with our alumni. Our Facebook fanpage provides the latest updates of the University. Moreover, in 2017, a bi-monthly e-newsletter Alumni Linkage, has been launched to further strengthen our connection with alumni. Each issue features a selection of events, alumni group gatherings, benefits and University news, as well as stories on individual alumni and faculty members.
Supporting alumni groups
We welcome alumni with common educational backgrounds or interests to establish their own alumni groups by offering support and assistance. Our services range from advice and step-by-step guidance during the set-up period, to assistance and support including free venue rental and publicity opportunities from the University, after the group is set up.
Fostering giving culture among alumni
In 2001, the OUHK Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund was established to award students with outstanding academic performance and provide assistance to those who are financially in need. To raise money for the Fund, the Alumni Affairs Office launches various donation campaigns from time to time, inviting alumni to give back to their alma mater for the benefit of their fellow schoolmates.
In addition to financial giving, we also encourage alumni to offer volunteer support where possible. The University is blessed with a large alumni network composed of high achievers from a wide range of industries. We look to our supportive alumni for their generous sharing of knowledge, experiences and expertise, which are invaluable to the University's development.
