    Latest Information on COVID-19 (For Non-Local Students)

    Non-local students need a valid student visa to attend classes on campus. The visa will expire if you have not activated it by entering the Hong Kong border within 3 months after its issuance. The University will assist students to apply for re-issuance of visa as necessary. Please note that it takes 4-6 weeks for visa re-issuance. The fee of the first-time re-issuance will be borne by the University.

    For UG students:

    The University will continue to adopt mixed-mode teaching, non-local students who are currently not in Hong Kong, are advised to be cautious when making travel plans coming to Hong Kong.

    The Government has very specific conditions imposed on inbound travellers who have visited specified places, students should read through the Notes carefully before you plan to be back to Hong Kong.

    Students who have stayed in places outside China on the day of arrival at Hong Kong or during the 21 days before that day, have to undergo compulsory quarantine for 21 days in designated quarantine hotels. The Government will also arrange designated transportation for sending you to designated quarantine hotels, please check the Government’s website and read carefully the Points to Note for Quarantine for Inbound Travellers, before you make any plan back to Hong Kong.

    Students should also check whether you are eligible for quarantine at home or other accommodation.

    If students are returning from Guangdong Province or Macao, please read through the Return2hk – Travel Scheme for Hong Kong Residents Returning from Guangdong Province or Macao without being subject to quarantine under the Compulsory Quarantine.

    If students are coming back from China or any other places, and assigned an off-campus accommodation in 2020/21, who still want to come to the campus, you should check with Student Affairs Office (oca@ouhk.edu.hk) the availability of quarantine accommodation and check-in arrangement 15 working days in advance.

    Students who don’t come back to Hong Kong in January 2021 and register online classes, but plan to come back in the middle of the term, you should make your arrangements of quarantine accommodation and the accommodation after quarantine. If you need more information on quarantine accommodation and self-arranged off-campus accommodation, please contact Student Affairs Office (oca@ouhk.edu.hk).


    Non-local student should present your original copy of valid student visa, landing slip and Hong Kong identity card for a record to the University upon arrival in Hong Kong.

    For UG students, please bring along the above documents to Admissions & Enrolment Office (Undergraduate), Registry (Address: E0G05, Ground Floor, Jockey Club Campus, 81 Chung Hau Street, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon.)

    For PG students, please bring along the landing slip to Registry Office (Address: A0511, 5/F, Block A, Main Campus, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon.)

    Student Affairs Office provides support to non-local students of their adjustment to get the most from the life experience and resources in Hong Kong and OUHK. Engagement opportunities include local dialect learning, life and cultural explore and peer support. Students can contact sao@ouhk.edu.hk for more information.

    Counseling is available through flexible means and platforms (including online), based on need.  Students can make appointments via email to our counselor Ms Kayla Wang at kwang@ouhk.edu.hk. The content and personal information will remain confidential.

    The University has also offered a variety of resources to support students.  Should students encounter abrupt financial difficulties, please approach Student Affairs Office.

    Student services are provided as normal, students are advised to contact Student Affairs Office whenever necessary.

    New students should collect their Student ID cards from Registry.

    If you have not submitted your photo yet, you will not be able to receive the Student ID card. Please submit your photo as soon as possible via MyOUHK.

    Continuing students who need to renew the Student ID card, please contact Student Records Office, Registry via email to regrec@ouhk.edu.hk.
