    Campus Life Enrichment Fund

    The Campus Life Enrichment Funds (Funds) is to financially support student groups or individual students to organize or participate, on a voluntary basis, in activities or projects that enrich the campus life experience and reinforce personal development. Taking the opportunities of the University’s retitling to the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, the Funds will also provide support to students to joint hands with the University in her rebranding exercise to the campus community and the public.

    The Student Life Enrichment Subsidy Scheme supports individual students to engage in different life enrichment activities in Hong Kong which take place by 31 August 2021:
    1. Art Appreciation Activity (eg. Museum, gallery, exhibition visit, literary film watching etc.)
    2. Music Appreciation Activity (eg. Classical musical concert, pop music concert etc.)
    3. Health and Fitness Activity (eg. LCSD Fitness Room Monthly Ticket Scheme, Sports venue fee etc.)
    4. Mindfulness and Spiritual Self-Care Activity (eg. Tea meditation, calligraphy meditation etc.)
    5. Other Cultural Activity (e.g. Craft and making activities, creative writing workshops)

    Eligibility: All full time undergraduate students

    Level of support: Up to $100 or the actual cost, whichever is lower, to each application.

    Quota: 5000 (on first-come-first-served basis)

    Requirements:
    1. Each student can submit one application for the life enrichment activity which take place by 31 August 2021.
    2. No prior application is required;
    3. Students are required to submit the activity receipt during the application.

    Application method:
    Interested students can submit the application via MyOUHK by 31 August 2021.

    The Student-initiated Activity Fund encourages and facilitates not-for-profit, small or informal student groups of not less than 5 FTUG students to initiate project ideas that related to one of the followings:
    1. Enhancing the campus community engagement;
    2. Instilling positive energy to the campus community;
    3. Nurturing youth values (e.g. positivity, resilience, growth mindset, can-do spirits & de-stressing)

    Eligibility: All full time undergraduate students

    Level of support:
    - Up to $5,000 for each project, subject to the activity scale and number of beneficiaries, a higher subsidy level may be considered case by case;
    - Normally, most of the activity expenses will be funded such as program or registration fee, equipment, promotion, printing and program materials, except food and beverage and valuable items like electronic appliances;
    - Food and beverage will be funded on rare occasions like serving food for honorable guests and materials in cooking class. Purchase of materials, hiring coaches/trainers or provision of honorarium to guests should follow the prevailing human resources or procurement procedure of the University. SAO will facilitate the process as appropriate;
    - Interested students who wish to explore the feasibility of the project ideas before submitting the application may contact our staff at ssa@ouhk.edu.hk to make an appointment, subject to the activity nature, SAO may facilitate the project implementation by providing logistic necessary tangible supports such as venues and publicity.

    Quota: 10 projects

    Assessment Method: The selection panel will assess the proposal based on feasibility, interest and applicability.

    Requirements:
    - The proposed idea should achieve at least one objective stated above;
    - The applicant should be the PIC and the contact person of the project;
    - All the members of the group should be active FTUG students;
    - The activity should be non-profit making;
    - To facilitate the applications from student groups with different event start dates, three windows will be opened as follows.
    Round Application Deadline For Activity Period of
    First Round 30 June 2021 10 July to 31 September 2021
    Second Round 31 August 2021 1 October to 31 December 2021
    Third Round 14 November 2021 1 January to 31 May 2022

    Project completion report:
    - Applicant is required to submit the Project Completion Report Form one month upon the completion of event.

    Application method:
    Interested students can submit the application via the online platform by the deadline.

    The purpose of the Theme-based Activity Fund is to facilitate student units to organize large scale activities that related to the followings:
    1. Enhancing the campus community engagement;
    2. Instilling positive energy to the campus community;
    3. Nurturing youth values (e.g. positivity, resilience, growth mindset, can-do spirits & de-stressing)

    Eligibility: Students’ Union and active student society

    Level of support:
    - Up to $10,000 for each student society; the fund could be allocated to a maximum of 2 activities;
    - Up to $50,000 for Students’ Union; the fund could be allocated to a maximum of 5 activities;
    - Each student unit can apply the funding once during the term of office;
    - Student units may submit a collaborative proposal for combining funding support. The maximum level of support would be equivalent to the total amount that could be given to all concerned student unit;
    - There is no cap of the fund to be granted to an activity but the total amount of all activities should not exceed the respective funding ceilings as stipulated above;
    - Normally, most of the activity expenses will be funded such as program or registration fee, equipment, promotion, printing and program materials, except food and beverage and valuable items like electronic appliances.
    - Food and beverage will be funded on rare occasions like serving food for honorable guests and materials in cooking class. Purchase of materials, hiring coaches/trainers or provision of honorarium to guests should follow the prevailing human resources or procurement procedure of the University. SAO will facilitate the process as necessary.

    Requirements:
    - The proposed idea should achieve at least one objective stated above;
    - The applicant should be the chairperson of the student unit;
    - The proposed activities should NOT be the same as that have been incorporated in the annual year plan submitted to CSA via the Student Management System. If we received the same activity proposal for the theme-based activity fund, your activity application submitted to CSA via SMS will be withdrawn.
    - The activities should be non-profit making
    - To facilitate the applications from student units with different start dates of the term, two windows will be opened as follows.

    Second Round 14 November 2021 1 January to 31 May 2022

    Remarks:
    - For joint societies’ activity application, only the society taking the leading role is required to submit the application. SAO will contact the societies involved to confirm the funding allocation and details.

    The Seed Funding Scheme supports student groups to form new student societies or reactivate societies which were currently in terminated or dormant status.

    Eligibility: A group of not less than 4 full time undergraduate students who are intended and committed to operate a new or reactivate a student society.

    Level of support:
    - $5,000 would be given to the student group as operational fund under the following circumstances:
        - $2,000 upon receipt of the seed funding application form and the list of proposed executive members;
        - $3,000 upon receipt of the completed application for society recognition and constitution
    - Interested students who wish to explore the possibilities to form new student society or reactivate society before submitting the application may contact our staff at ssa@ouhk.edu.hk to make an appointment;
    - SAO will provide logistic supports to the applicant in organizing activities before the student society recognition process is completed.

    The HKMU Identity Building Activity Fund supports student units to order society items/ souvenirs / team uniforms with HKMU logo or organize activities which are relevant to the University retitling exercise.
