Regulations Governing the Use of Storage Lockers

    1. Lockers are allocated to successful applicants drawn by lot on a first-come-first-served basis.

    2. Successful applicants have no choice over the locker location and number.

    3. The lockers are provided mainly for storing books, notes, stationery and related academic materials. Storage of any items (e.g. valuables, explosives, pets, etc.) that would cause or likely to cause security risk, physical danger or nuisance to the campus environment or members of the University are prohibited.

    4. The right to use the locker is not transferable.

    5. Rental fee paid is not refundable. No partial refund upon early surrender.

    6. Students must take full responsibility for their lockers. The University should not be liable for any loss or damage of any padlock or of any property kept inside a locker howsoever caused.

    7. Students should provide their own padlocks.

    8. Unauthorized use of unoccupied or other students' lockers is strictly forbidden.

    9. The lockers are property of the University. Students are not allowed to make any alterations to the lockers. No stickers or pictures are allowed to be adhered to the locker surface.

    10. Students should report any damage or faults of their lockers to Facilities Management Unit (FMU) immediately. The University reserves the right to charge the students any expenses incurred for repairs of lockers.

    11. Students must remove their belongings from the lockers and the padlocks at the end of the rental period. After the rental period, FMU will have the authority to cut open any unclear locker and dispose of any property found there in.

    12. The University reserves the right to, without notifying the user in advance, open any locker in case of emergency or any violation of the above regulations. But in most cases, FMU staff will only open a locker in the presence of an authorized officer of the University.

    13. Any violation of these regulations by the user may result in termination of use of locker facility and the user may be debarred from future use of locker.

    14. The University reserves the right to, with prior notice to the user, terminate the use of the locker. Under such circumstances, rental fee will be refunded to the user on a pro-rata basis.
