Community Care Fund - Enhancing the Academic Expenses Grant for Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) (2018/19 academic year)

For Students of Full-time Undergraduate Programmes

Community Care Fund - Enhancing the Academic Expenses Grant for Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) (2018/19 academic year)

The Commission on Poverty approved on 27 March 2015 the allocation of funds from the Community Care Fund (CCF) for enhancing the academic expenses (AE) grant for post-secondary students with special educational needs (SEN)* and financial needs in order to strengthen the support for these students from 2015/16 to 2017/18.  At its meeting held on 21 June 2018, the CoP agreed to extend the programme for three academic years from 2018/19 till 2020/21.  The programme will continue to operate on its existing parameters.

Each student who is eligible for and have passed the means test of the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) and confirmed by a relevant professional to have at least one kind of SEN will be offered an additional AE grant of up to HK$8,680 in 2018/19 academic year.  The actual amount of subsidy receivable is to be determined with respect to the student’s level of assistance assessed in the means test of the Student Finance Office (SFO).

Eligible applicants can complete and return the request form (download by clicking here) to the SFO by 31 December 2018

For details of application, please visit the SFO’s website (www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/sfo/eng/schemes/ccf_sen.htm).
