Sarah Lee Wing-shan
Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Accounting
Sarah Lee Wing-shan joined the workforce after finishing Form 7. She had worked as a clerical worker at various private companies and banks. It did not take long for Sarah to realize that her lack of a university degree was a deterrent to her career advancement. She also felt that her knowledge was insufficient to cope with her work. Therefore she decided to return to school to acquire new skills and knowledge as well as to fulfil her dream to become a university graduate.
Sarah learned from a family member that OUHK’s programmes are fully recognized by the Government and many local and overseas professional bodies. In addition, studying at OUHK is relatively more flexible as the University allows learners to study at their own pace. She therefore decided to enroll in the University’s Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Accounting programme.
Rachel is awarded the “Bank of China (Hong Kong) Scholarship” and “Sunnyside Limited Scholarship” at the 2017/18 Scholarship and Bursary Awards Presentation for her outstanding academic achievement. Although this is the second time that Sarah was awarded scholarships from the OUHK, she is just as excited as ever. Sarah said that the awards are an assurance of her efforts and a strong motivation for her to work even harder.
Sarah is truly thankful to her donors for their generosity and support. She is also grateful to have met many terrific and kind professors and tutors at the OUHK. She particularly appreciates the extra time that they spent with her and her fellow classmates to help them grasp the concepts and theories. Sarah recalled that whenever she or other students had a question, they were always willing to offer help and encouraged them to strive for better results.
Sarah believes that it is important to keep up with the times and get ready for the challenges ahead. She plans to use the scholarships for further studies to enhance her competitiveness and work performance. She is hoping to study Information Technology and Electronic Commerce in the near future.
