"Best Craft of Art" Award
Two teams of students from the Creative Advertising and Media Design programme participated in the HK4As Students' Award 2019 and clinched two awards with their innovative advertising campaigns.
This year, all participating teams were required to create an integrated branding campaign to promote the "Meatless Meat" (a vegan meat product) so as to reduce meat consumption as well as carbon emissions.
Among the 11 finalist teams, an OU team won a bronze award with its catchy Chinese brand name "搣甩肉" for "Meatless Meat". The team made use of a mix of TV commercials, ambient and digital advertising, and a series of promotional events to create a strong visual hook to capture audience's interest.
Another OU team developed a print advertising campaign titled "Plant Meat" and won the Best Craft of Art Award. Their campaign adopted a mix and match creative technique to deliver the concept of "meat made from veggie" with adorable and witty illustrations. The team also created and incorporated a slogan "Eat less meat, Keep you fit" into the logo of "Meatless Meat" which further highlights the benefit of reducing meat consumption.
