Bun Scrambling Competition
The Bun Scrambling Competition is a traditional activity of the Cheung Chau Bun Festival. This year, 12 contestants, including an OU nursing student Janet Kung, have been shortlisted for competing for the titles of King and Queen of the Buns held on 13 May. They were required to scramble up the bun tower to snatch as many buns as they could within a three-minute time limit to compete for the championships. After an exciting and fierce competition, Janet was crowned the "Queen of the Buns" of 2019.
Janet has participated in the annual Bun Scrambling Competition in the past seven years and this is the first time she won the championship. In addition to Bun Scrambling, Janet is also very adept at many other sports, such as swimming, diving, volleyball and rugby. This year, she earned the Talent Development Scholarship from the Government's Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme with her outstanding achievements in sports and games.
