The 6th Annual International Conference on Worldwide Nursing (WNC 2018)
Best Student Paper Award
Four nursing students represented their team to present their final year project at this year’s WNC held in Singapore. Among the papers submitted by students from all over the world, their paper together with another PhD student’s work were awarded the Best Student Paper Award. The judges were very impressed by their outstanding presentation skills and insightful analysis, and exclaimed “This is our future!”.
Their award-winning paper was the joint-effort of ten nursing students which aims to investigate the insertion and removal practice of daily disposable soft contact lens (DDSCL) among adult users. The study showed that the current habits of many of the DDSCL users were unsatisfactory and most users would not properly clean their hands prior to insertion and removal of DDSCL. The group suggested that healthcare professionals and the government should strengthen public education by teaching the proper routine of wearing contact lenses so as to prevent infection or other health problems.
