The fundamental concepts of education today are undergoing radical changes.The time honoured radical changes.The time honoured assumptions and transactions regarding the teacher and the taught are now being severely questioned.Distance shatters the myth of interpersonal transactions between the preceptor and the learner;signalling a 'new' didacticism in educational heuristics.Tradititional methods of teaching must adapt to changes in the face of the 'looming' crisis; the technoligically abetted revolution in the very philosophy of educational systems.A.S.Guha,IGNOU.
