Issue 1.2 Technology diffusion among learners. The presentation on Saturday 24 by OUHK researchers showed that students still prefer print-based material. A colleague at one of the tertiary institutions here in Auckland who is having a parallel flexible learning(one of the cyber-culture variety of nomenclature) innovation has told me that she has the same experience as the OUHK researchers' experience. How computer literate are learners before they are told to use it a source of knowledge? Most people would probably agree that some computer symbols are different from the normal language and may not engender motivation to a learner who has had no adequate exposure to computers. Research question: Is it to do with preference for the printed word or the fact that learners have had no adequate exposure to the technology.
