The study of humanity and of human society lies at the heart of any university. The School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS) aims to broaden students' academic horizons, enhance their intellectual understanding of the humanities and/or social sciences, and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the changing needs of Hong Kong society. Our degrees in Chinese Language and Literature are recognized by the Education Bureau, and degree holders from Language and Translation programmes are eligible for exemption from the Language Proficiency Requirement.
