Application and Registration Procedures for the April 2013 Semester

Notes to Applicants

  1. The University will invite applications from 3 December 2012 to 26 February 2013.   (Registration deadline has been extended to 12 March 2013)
  2. You are able to select the course and its class section in a single process.  Immediate payment is required. Registration on classes will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. If you choose to pay the tuition fee through e-banking of your selected bank, the University will only reserve for you a place in the course ((but not the specific class section).  Upon payment received by the University from the respective banks, the University will confirm your registration and assign you to the class section you have indicated, provided that a place is still available then. However, if there is no place left in the class section that you have chosen, the University will allocate to you a place in a different class section.
  4. You may either apply online or download a hard-copy application form.  Complete the form clearly in English.
  5. Separate admission and registration procedures are required for the following programme(s). Please contact the Registry for details. 

    Doctor of Engineering
    Higher Diploma in Nurising

  6. You can make your application fee (HK$200) and tuition fee payment as follows: 
    From 29 December 2012 to 12 March 2013 
    Online Application Hard Copy Application

    You can choose to

    • pay both the application fee and the tuition fee through online payment when you submit the online  application form [more...]; OR
    • pay the application fee through online payment first when you submit the online application form, and then pay the tuition fee immediately through e-banking of your selected bank [more...].

     

    • Submission of application in person
      • You can pay the application fee and the tuition fee together at the University by EPS, cheque, or Wing Lung Bank’s Interest Free Tuition Loan (for OUHK MasterCard cardholders only)

     

    • Submission of application by mail
      • You can pay the application fee and the tuition fee by enclosing a cheque payable to "The Open University of Hong Kong".   If you are submitting the application by mail and the class section that you opt for is FULL by the time the University processes the application, the University will assign a class section with an available seat to you without further notice.
  7. You are required to attach the following supporting documents with your application:
    • produce your identity card in person for verification during our office hours [more...] or
      attach a copy of the card with the word ‘copy’ marked across the face;
    • produce your senior citizen card (if any) in person for verification during office hours or attach a copy of the card with the word ‘copy’ marked across the face, if you wish to apply for the senior citizen discount on course tuition fee;
    • Admissions Supplementary Form for Programmes with Specific Entry Requirements and supporting documents. (Only for programmes with specific entry requirement.) Note that original documents will need to be preseted for verification upon request by the University.
  8. To comply with the requirements of the HKSAR Government's Office of the CEF, the University will not offer any tuition fee discounts or reduction to students applying for 'CEF reimbursable courses'.
  9. Applications will normally be processed on a first-come, first-served basis; therefore, it is advisable for applicants to submit their applications as early as possible.
