Aims and Objectives:

 

The Conference aims to provide a platform for exchanging fresh views on both theoretical and empirical issues related to the translation of Chinese Literature in the World. It also encourages discussions on the correlations between translation and social issues such as globalization. We aim to establish links between academics, researchers, stakeholders and policymakers in the hope of fostering research in the fields of cultural and creative arts as well as the teaching of translation.

 

The Conference will address a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:

 

  Culture in Translation

 Reception of Chinese literature in the world

 Literary translation

 Teaching translation

 Critical studies of translation

 Translation in the age of globalization

 Film adaptation and translation

 Hong Kong literature and its translation

SSubmissions from all countries are warmly welcome. Please submit an abstract with 200 - 300 words in Chinese or English by 30 July 2010 to cit2011@ouhk.edu.hk. Applicants will be notified of their application status by 31 August 2010.
