Author finds inspiration in graduate stories

Author Wong Ha-pak, an OUHK language and translation graduate, has a knack for bringing people and events vividly to life. His new book, Dreams No Longer Far Away -- Twenty Inspirational Graduate Stories of Lifelong Learning, no doubt also benefits from the inspiration he found in the subject matter. Interviewing OUHK graduates and writing their stories, he says, was like attending twenty lectures on life. It reinforced his belief that the key to studying is to put your heart into it. 'You can study anytime and anywhere you like. There's no need to feel limited by external circumstances like location, surroundings or age.' A former reporter and TV drama scriptwriter, Wong has published two books on everyday life in Macao and memories of the past, particularly those associated with old theatres. Recently, he has been interviewing villagers in Tsuen Wan for a booklet on sustainable ways of living.
