Dr
Susie S S Lum has been appointed by the Government to serve
as a member of the OUHK Council for one year from June 2007,
replacing Mr Wong Sau-ching, who contributed nearly six years
of service to the University. Dr Lum is the Chief Manager
(Nursing) of the Hospital Authority. She obtained her Diploma
in Nursing Education at the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences
in Australia, and her nursing administration qualification and
MBA from the Royal College of Nursing and University of Hull
in the UK respectively. She was awarded the Doctor of Nursing
(honoris causa) degree by La Trobe University, Australia,
and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing in Australia.
She is an Adjunct Professor/Associate Professor at the Polytechnic
University, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University
of Hong Kong, and is an adviser to a number of professional
nursing associations and unions. Dr Lum has also sat on a number
of Councils and Registration Boards and is a member of the Elderly
Commission of the HKSAR.
Dr Alan Au and Dr Cheuk Wai-hing, Associate Professors of
the School of Business and Administration and the School of
Arts and Social Sciences respectively, have been elected as
Senate representatives to sit on the Council for two years
from June 2007.
Dr Chan Chin-wing, Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies
of the School of Science and Technology, and Mr Lawrence Choi,
translation tutor in the School of Arts and Social Sciences,
have been elected to the OUHK Council once again as representatives
of full-time staff and part-time tutors, respectively. Their
two-year terms of office began in October 2007.
