Advisory prerequisite(s)
You are advised to have completed at least 60 credits in courses of the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration.

Aims
This course aims to enhance students’ ability to view business as an integrated whole. It provides students with an understanding of the factors that contribute to the long-term performance of a business, and introduces various tools and frameworks for strategic analysis and strategic management. The course also helps students to better comprehend the ways that business entities can develop and maintain competitive advantages.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Overview of strategic management

  • Strategic analysis

  • Strategy formulation

  • Strategy implementation and control

  • International aspects of strategic management

Learning support
There will be four three-hour tutorials and one three-hour seminar.

Assessment
There are two tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) and one three-hour examination. Students must use word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) to prepare the TMAs, and submit the TMAs via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
