Astrophotographer Canon Lau

Not many people manage to get their photos on the cover of astronomy journals and websites of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the US. That's what Canon Lau has achieved with his portraits of Saturn and other planets. Apart from star gazing, the 1998 BA in Chinese Humanities graduate is also passionate about learning the Chinese language. He completed his secondary education at evening school while doing various odd jobs as a manual labourer to support his family, and only became an editorial assistant of a publishing house at the age of 28 when his siblings had finished Form 5. Now an executive editor, Canon says his OUHK studies boosted not only his knowledge of the Chinese language but also his confidence.
