The New College will have an innovative and environmentally conscious design. The total capital cost of the College is estimated to be about $709 million. It will have a total gross floor area of 21,500 square meters. There will be new facilities currently not available on the OUHK campus, including student-oriented setups like Active Learning Classrooms, Learning Commons, an auditorium, arts studios and laboratories, testing and certification laboratories, and enhanced nursing laboratories. A canteen and uncovered areas of the campus will be open to the public. The New College will be ready for occupation by approximately the end of 2013.
