The study of humanity and of human society lies at the heart of any university. The School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS) aims to broaden students' academic horizons, enhance their intellectual understanding of the humanities and/or social sciences, and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the changing needs of Hong Kong society. Our degrees in Chinese Language and Literature are recognized by the Education and Manpower Bureau, and degree holders from Language and Translation programmes are eligible for exemption from the Language Proficiency Requirement.

New! Our School is also organizing a public competition on legal translation and literary translation. Please click here for the source texts and application form. The submission deadline is 31 July and the result will be announced on 2 October.

For new students you can access the online Prospectus for New Students or request for a print copy.

You can search for programme and course information at http://www.ouhk.edu.hk/enrol_e look under 'by qualification'.
