Music and entertainment business offers a challenging and
exciting career. This industry needs not only the singers, but also a
large team of professionals who understand music as well as management
of music business.
This programme is designed to develop students’
professional knowledge and skills in music marketing and management.
They will be given the opportunity to learn from a group of renowned
musicians, production artists and managers in the music industry.

Objectives
|

Upon completion of the programme,
participants should be able to:
a.
Identify the concepts of music arrangement, composition and
lyrics through music listening, reading and production;
b.
Demonstrate an understanding of music industry in general;
c.
Be equipped with marketing, publishing and management knowledge
for the music industry;
d.
Apply music marketing and management knowledge in solving
business and marketing problems.
e.
Be prepared for a marketing and managerial role in the music and
entertainment industry.

Assessment
|
|
Students are required to have an overall pass in the assessments
of each course (in the form of assignments, case study and
presentation, test etc.) in programme. The passing mark is
50%.

Award |
|
-
A "Professional Diploma in Music Marketing and Management"
will be jointly issued by LiPACE and
Baron School of Music to those who have
successfully completed the whole programme.
-
Students who have successfully completed CA014 may apply for
an intermediate award of “Professional Certificate in
Music Marketing and Management” jointly issued by LiPACE
and Baron School of Music.

Admission Policy |
|
In
line with the “open” nature of the University, this programme
and it is open to everyone. However, applicants will be advised
that they may find the programme difficult if they do not meet
the following requirements:
a.
A
Pass or Level 2 in HKCEE English; or
b.
Have
obtained some basic music training (such as ABRSM Grade 3)
c.
Mature applicants aged 21 or above with 3 years’ relevant
working experience;
Applicants may be required to attend an admission
interview. |

Exemption Policy |
|
Exemption may be granted for individual courses if an applicant
has successfully completed a course of comparable content and
standard at a recognized tertiary institution or through a
professional examination.
The maximum exemption to be granted
is 3 courses.
