Seminar on ‘RIDCH field trip sharing session: Digitalisation and museum’

On 25 April 2017, Ms Janet Lau and Mr Walter Wong, Senior Lecturers in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, gave a seminar and shared their findings from the field visits to selected art institutions and museums in Tokyo in 2015. In this seminar, Ms Lau and Mr Wong explored how the development and application of digital technology has had an impact on the operation and management of museums, further illustrating how digitalization contributes to shaping visitors’ experiences and society at large.


Seminar on ‘Writing strong grant applications’


On 5 June 2017, Prof. Joanne Tompkins, Professor of Drama in the University of Queensland, Australia, gave a seminar on preparing a good research grant proposal. Prof. Tompkins is currently seconded for three years to the Australian Research Council as Executive Director of the Humanities and Creative Arts panel. Her research interests include spatial theories and virtual reality; post-colonial, intercultural, and multicultural drama, literature, and theory; performance theories; and feminist performance.
