Seminar on synthesis of 2,4-diamino-triazine compounds and its metal complexes

The 17th seminar in the IRITS luncheon seminar series was held on 25 September 2015. The speaker, Ms Cindy Yuet Ting Lau, presented a rapid synthesis procedure for 2,4-diamino-triazine compounds with a higher product yield. The properties of these compounds and their derivatives were also discussed.

Seminar on environmental research and expedition in Svalbard Isles, the Higher Arctic

The 18th seminar in the IRITS luncheon seminar series was held on 2 October 2015, and was presented by Prof. Kin-Chung Ho, Dean of School of Science & Technology, OUHK. In the seminar, Prof. Ho shared his observations of a project on environmental research and an expedition to the Svalbard Isles, the Higher Arctic.

Seminar on structural effects on the catalytic, emulsifying and recycling properties of chiral amphiphilic dendritic organocatalysts

The 19th seminar in the IRITS luncheon seminar series was held on 16 October 2015. In the seminar, the speaker, Dr Cat Chui-Man Lo, illustrated the structural effects on the catalytic, emulsifying, and recycling properties of chiral amphiphilic dendritic organocatalysts.

Seminar on proteomic study of harmful algal blooms

The 20th seminar in the IRITS luncheon seminar series was held on 30 October 2015, delivered by Dr Fred Wang-Fat Lee, Assistant Professor in the School of Science and Technology, OUHK. Dr Lee presented a research study illustrating how proteomic technology could be applied in the investigation of algal blooms and discussed the related challenges.

Seminar on e-Governance, an intersection between ICT and management science

The 21st seminar in the IRITS luncheon seminar series was held on 6 November 2015, and presented by Mr Dos Santos José Gabriel Rosário, Senior Officer–Principal Advisor, Electronic Governance Department, Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, Macau SAR. In the seminar, Mr Santos reported the use of an ancient technique called peripatetic to explore ways to achieve an e-Government goal by engaging a variety of technologies. He also discussed the qualities an e-Government manager needs to face such a challenging task.

Seminar on bioremediation of persistent organic pollutants by microalgae

The 22nd seminar in the IRITS luncheon seminar series was delivered on 11 December 2015 by Dr Sidney Man-Ngai Chan, Assistant Professor in the School of Science and Technology, OUHK. Dr Chan presented the potential of microalgae in the adsorption and degradation of persistent organic pollutants.
